"55 days — 'Alicante' is a French filet-type bush green bean, or haricot vert in French. Its compact plants are early, very productive, and exhibits disease resistance to Bean Common Mosaic Virus and Anthracnose. The pods are round in cross section, straight, thin, and best harvested when young and tender (about five inches long). They are uniformly dark green in color and tasty. Considered a gourmet variety, they are typically harvested as a fresh green beans and served whole but certainly can be used in any recipe, such as soups and casserole, calling for green beans."
