From Great Lakes Staple Seeds:
"The Jesse Fisk bean is the namesake of an original New England settler. In the 1740's Jesse Fisk emigrated from England to Charleston New Hampshire. Direct seeded in early June, mulched and left it to its own devices, this variety rewarded us in the fall with an abundance of stout pods. They shell easily yielding 5-6 beautiful, fat, slightly rounded oblong beans apiece. Welcome additions to our winter pantry, we enjoy Jesse Fisk beans in chili, soups and as slow-cooked beans. A new "must-grow" variety for us."
